SEASON RECAP

As the 2011-2012 bowling season winds down, The Board of Directors would like to thank everyone for another great year of bowling.  As with every year, we had a tremendous amount of honor scores bowled in our Association this season.  We would like to congratulate Tom Brady, Jr. for tying the Association singles record of 868.  Tom bowled games of 289, 279 and 300 in the team event of the annual Association tournament at Rapids Bowling Center in March.  A pesky pocket 5 pin (sorry Tom!) in the first game kept Tom from breaking the record. 

This year the Board of Directors voted five (5) individuals into the Association Hall of Fame.  Being inducted this year under the category of bowling accomplishments is Jim Boos, Thurman James, Anthony Quaranto, Jr. and Guido Burridge.  In addition, Joseph Ventry will be inducted under the category of meritorious service.  Congratulations to all of the inductees.  The awards ceremony and dinner will be held in October. 

The annual Association tournament recently concluded at Rapids Bowling Center.  We would like to thank everyone that came out and participated.  Please remember that as a member of this Association, this is your tournament.  It is only as successful as you make it through participation.  The Board of Directors puts in a lot of time and effort to make this tournament happen – please help support their efforts.

The winners will be presented with their awards at our annual dinner/meeting, which will be held in May.  Next year’s tournament will be held at Frontier Lanes, dates still to be determined.

We will be updating our Facebook page regularly with score and tournament information, as well as any other information that we want to get out there.  It will also be an easy way for bowlers to communicate with us.  Our website will now only be updated at the beginning and end of each bowling season, so be sure to “like” us on Facebook in order to receive updates regularly.
